Winter Discovery Camp, India

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have joined forces to offer UMAP Discovery Camp 2030: The Future is Now .  The program will have a serious focus on SDGS related to EEE i.e Equality, Energy and Environment. 

KIIT and KISS at the forefront of sustainability work in teaching and research, the university has been highly ranked three years in a row in Times Higher Education’s ranking for its work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. KIIT has recently been placed in the cohort of 600-800 in World University ranking 2023 by Times Higher Education. Students from all UMAP member universities are welcome to work in teams at KIIT and KISS University to address real life challenges related to SDGs such as: Reduced inequality, Affordable and clean Energy, Sustainable production and consumption, and strong, democratic and engaging institutions for all. The winter camp aims to facilitate student-community involvement, enhance intercultural skills, and build relationships between participants from different cultures. Our social programme will include a welcome and farewell ceremony as well as day trips and social activities, allowing students to experience sustainability initiatives. Students will learn through lectures on each topic which will majorly include sessions on-

  • Overview of progress towards the agenda 2030 and the SDGs
  • Inequality and indigenous experience
  • Implementation of practical energy efficiency measures
  • Environment protection and Sustainability

NERPS Conference 2023 in Thailand – Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability

The Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability (NERPS) at Hiroshima University and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) will jointly host the NERPS Conference 2023 – the second edition of the Hiroshima International Conference on Peace and Sustainability in the Context of Global Change – from February 28 to March 3, 2023 in Thailand.

UMAP Discovery Camp Indonesia 2023 Information Session

UMAP Discovery Camp 2023:  The GLOBE (Global Bound and Exchange) Discover Indonesia is a joint program collaboration between Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya & Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) Semarang.  The program will be held from 5-17 February 2023 in Surabaya and Semerang Indonesia. The participants will gain insight and experience related to technology development in society, city development, culture, art, food and societal interaction.

Concordia 2022: A Month-long celebration of the United Nations

In celebration of the United Nations month, the San Pedro College Internationalization and Linkages (InterLink) Office presents Concordia: Overcoming Barriers To Peace Through Culture.

Climate Leaders Webinar Series, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

UMAP members are invited to participate in the Climate Leaders Webinar Series titled “Universities and Sustainable Communities: Towards a Green Agenda” organized by the Institute of Climate Change (IPI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in collaboration with the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) and Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.

This webinar is designed to shape university leadership in strengthening its contribution to the local community and sustainable global community. It will serve as a platform to strengthen the university’s role in equipping graduates with comprehensive education and understanding global climate change issues.

The webinar will be held on Monday, October 17th, 2022 from 9.00 am (Kuala Lumpur, GMT +8) using the Zoom platform.

UMAP Discovery Camp 2023: The GLOBE Discover Indonesia

UMAP Discovery Camp 2023:  The GLOBE (Global Bound and Exchange) Discover Indonesia is a joint program collaboration between Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya & Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) Semarang.  The program will be held from 5-17 February 2023 in Surabaya and Semerang Indonesia. The participants will have insight and experience related to technology development in society, city development, culture, art, food and societal interaction.

ITS will expose participants to the implementation of SDGs 4-8-10-11-17 in Surabaya City, particularly City Council for Population Administration and Civil Registration, City Office for Education, and City Office for Cooperation and Micro Enterprises. The program will provide SDG related courses, site visits to government offices, case studies, and projects The use of technology in achieving sustainability post pandemic will be the highlight. In addition, participants will be given opportunities to learn Indonesian traditional instruments and martial arts.

Unissula will provide a seminar on SDGs 4-5-11-16 in the context of Semarang City, particularly related to Semarang as a peaceful multi-religion city, resilient city and community, and the role of women as front liners against pandemic.

In addition, participants will be provided with basic Indonesian language classes, batik shirt making, and a traditional dancing course. The joint program between ITS in East Java and Unissula in Central Java will definitely offer a great opportunity for participants to discover Indonesia!

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) is pleased to announce the Thailand UMAP Micro Credentials (Strand B) program which is aimed to fulfil the needs of learners who seek to upskill and reskill, develop needed specific competencies, or lifelong learning.
