Networking and COIL opportunity for Canadian Mexican and US members

AMPEI, the Mexican Association for International Education,  fosters international education among Higher Education Institutions. Since 2020, AMPEI-COIL has worked with universities from Mexico and the United States to implement the COIL methodology sponsored by the US Embassies in Mexico and Canada.

Canadian, Mexican, and US UMAP members are invited to be part of this trilateral program. 

AMPEI offers:

  • opportunities to detect potential COIL teaching partners through the Academic Speed Dating sessions and the AMPEI -COIL partnership platform (coil.ampei.org.mx),
  • training workshops on the COIL methodology fundamentals, and support for the design of the COlL syllabus. Our workshops include online access to educational materials and a weekly live session with the instructor.
  • coaching during the implementation of the COL component by experienced COIL mentors, and
  • the opportunity to apply for a mobility grant at the end of the COIL experience on a competitive basis.

If you are going to the NAFSA:  Association for International Educators conference in Washington, D.C. we would love to see you there!  We are delighted to announce that the UMAP International Secretariat will be attending the NAFSA 75th Annual Conference in Washington DC, May 30-June 2, 2023 and will be available for 15-minute meetings on May 31 and June 1.

To book a meeting, please follow the steps below:

  • Step 2: Click on your preferred date to see available time slots 
  • Step 3:Click on your preferred time slot and click “Confirm”.
  • Step 4: Enter your name, email, institution, and what you’d like to discuss. Then click “Schedule Event”.
  • Step 5: You’re booked! Add to calendar (if desired). 

All meetings will be held in the Expo Hall, Canada Pavilion, BC Booth.
