SEAMEO Internship Programme for Students
The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) is a chartered intergovernmental organization established in 1965 among governments of Southeast Asian countries to promote regional cooperation in education, science and culture in the region. SEAMEO develops and nurtures the capacities of teachers and school managers in Southeast Asia through its network of 21 specialist Centres that undertake training and research programme in various fields of education, science and culture. In order to provide excellent chance for a directed learning experience in regional and international platform for the students through practical work assignments at our SEAMEO Centres and the SEAMEO Secretariat, SEAMEO has launched “SEAMEO Internship Programme for Students” with an aim to nurture young people and to better prepare them for an increasingly globalized world. We would appreciate it if you could please help promote the SEAMEO Internship Programme to your students. Call for Program A&B 2017-2 (Spring 2018)Dear UMAP colleagues in National Secretariat and member universities, We are pleased to announce that we are now collecting program information for UMAP Program A&B 2017-2 (semester-long programs for Spring 2018). The following link is the program information form for you to fill out. Once you have filled it out, please return it to us in Excel format. 【Click to Download】Outline_Proposal_for_Program_A&B The deadline for submitting program information is June 14th, 2017. The start of student application through Home university coordinator will be 20th June 2017.

For those universities/institutions that have unfilled spaces after the completion of the first cycle, UMAP-IS will automatically continue to offer their programs in the second cycle. (2) Universities in Full Member country/territory, that have signed the “Pledge of Agreement” are able to participate in the program. We are looking forward to receiving your program information. UMAP SSTP (Program C) ScholarshipWe are pleased to announce that UMAP will provide selected participants of UMAP Super Short-Term Programs (Program C) with the SSTP Scholarship in 2017. The details of the Scholarship are shown below.
1. Amount: Each recipient will receive U.S. $800.00 (or the equivalent in their local currency). 2. Number of recipients: Each country/territory will award the Scholarship to 10 students (80 students total). 3. Conditions: Only participants who meet the following conditions are eligible for the Scholarship: 1) Students from UMAP member universities who are nominated by UMAP International Secretariat (UMAP-IS) and participate in an SSTP arranged by a UMAP member university. 2) Students who successfully complete the program. 3) Students who submit a “Study Report” to the program coordinator(s) on the last day of the program. 4. Timing of payment: The Scholarship will be paid in cash at the end of the program. Students who receive the Scholarship must present their receipt to the program coordinator. 5. Selection of SSTP Scholarship recipients: If the number of participants exceeds the allocation for each country/territory, recipients will be prioritized based on the status of the host university/institution of the SSTP and that of the participating student’s home university/institution. |

If you are interested in participating in one of these programs, please review the information on the following website about the programs’ contents, length, available credits, and tuition and other fees before applying.
To Students, please DO NOT SEND your application directly to UMAP International Secretariat! We don’t accept them from students. Please contact UMAP Coordinator at your university. If you don’t know the person, please ask the person in charge of International Student Exchange at your home university.
