The Japan hub for Innovative Global Education (JIGE) is pleased to announce a new program to build capacity among participating UMAP institutions through a blended mobility program combining both online and onsite activities. The program will use a Train the Trainer focus and will address topics such as: Education 5.0, Technology Integration, Pedagogy, Digital Curriculum Development, and AI in Education.
The online phase will consist of a three-week virtual course scheduled for April 2025. Virtual classes will take place April 8; 15; and 22nd 10:30am-12:00 Japan time. A final project is due by April 30. Approximately 80 participants will be accepted to the online programs. Participants who successfully complete this part of the project will receive a micro-credential issued by Kansai University.
The onsite activities will take place June 2-7, 2025 in Osaka, Japan, coinciding with the World Expo 2025 and will include a full-day workshop hosted by Kansai University and a visit to the World Expo highlighting a demonstration of COIL connectivity to Expo participants.
JIGE will cover accommodation and travel costs for two lecturers from UMAP member institutions to facilitate workshops in Osaka and will offer honoraria for two speakers from UMAP member institutions. Approximately 20 UMAP participants will be accepted for the onsite program. All expenses must be covered by participants
