The De La Salle University – Dasmariñas was first established on July 18, 1977 as a private non-sectarian tertiary school named General Emilio Aguinaldo College (GEAC)- Cavite and managed by the YamanLahi Foundation in Dasmariñas, Cavite. De La Salle University bought GEAC-Cavite on May 29, 1987 after University President Br. Andrew Gonzales FSC looked into establishing a medical school in Cavite specializing in Science courses.

Eventually the University’s name became De La Salle University – Dasmariñas upon the approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 20, 1997. The university rest on 27-hectare lot area in the city of Dasmariñas, in the province of Cavite, south of Manila.

De La Salle University-Dasmariñas is a Filipino Catholic University established and managed by the De La Salle Brothers and their lay partners in the historic province of Cavite in response to the needs of the Church and the Nation for human and Christian education, particularly the youth at risk.

Guided by the Lasallian values of Faith, Zeal and Communion, the University participates meaningfully in the process of social transformation by forming God-centered, people-oriented, and patriotic persons who serve as responsible and professionally competent stewards of God’s creation. 

De La Salle University-Dasmariñas has level IV university accreditation from the Federation of Accrediting Associations of the Philippines (FAAP) as recommended by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU). The distinction is the highest accreditation status granted to Universities who have complied and exceeded the standards set by the PAASCU.

AB Communication. A four year course program that aims to train students the skils and knowledge to become future communication and media experts. This course use English as a medium of instruction and learning. The students can choose one of its course tracks namely: Public Relations (PR), Advertising, and Media Production (with concentration of Film). The learning in this program has a balance of theory and production that students need as a preparation for their career.
