Coast Mountain College

Terrace, BC Canada

Coast Mountain College (CMTN) is an accredited post-secondary institution that serves the rich and diverse communities and learners of British Columbia’s beautiful northwest region in Canada. Established in 1975 in Terrace, BC, CMTN has expanded to nine regional campuses serving 34 communities where the College provides approximately 4,600 students with innovative programs that lead to sustainable careers for people in the North.
Our main campus is in Terrace, which is a small town with a population of approximately 20,000 and is located in the famous Skeena Valley in the Coast Mountain Range. Terrace is the geographic centre for the region’s natural transportation corridors and acts as a regional centre for many services. Two major shopping malls, multiple restaurants and community recreational facilities are all found within the downtown core. Indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities abound, including skiing, swimming, skating, hiking, and organized sports. Many forms of cultural activities take place throughout the year and involve a Music Festival, a B.C. Day celebration called Riverboat Days, community band performances, little theatre and First Nations events.
CMTN offers quality and affordable education and a wide variety of certificates, diplomas, associate degrees in collaboration with other post-secondary institutes in northern BC. Where applicable, CMTN promotes experiential learning scenarios for its students that highlight the region’s unique cultural heritage, that connect them to community and provide interaction with the region’s spectacular and rugged environment.
