Aichi Prefectural University (hereinafter referred to as “APU”)   located in a suburb area of Nagoya city, the central part of Japan, between Tokyo and Osaka. APU has 5 undergraduate schools and 4 graduate schools and grants bachelor, master and doctoral degrees, and an enrollment of about 3500 students. There are about 80 international students from China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, France, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Peru and elsewhere. We offer a wide range of programs in Arts, Humanities, Social Science, Education, Information Science and Technology and Health Science.

◆List of Study Programs that are open for International Exchanges


International exchange students generally take Japanese courses specially designed for exchange students (ex. Comprehensive Japanese, Written Japanese Discourse, Project Work, Fieldwork, Vocabulary and Kanji, Japanese Culture and so on). If students have a good proficiency of Japanese and get the permission from the instructors, they can take undergraduate courses with Japanese students.

·Instruction Facilities and Other Supports
To help incoming international students adjust their student life in Japan, we assign student tutors to exchange students. They will go to the airport to pick up the international students and help their academic life as well. We have a multilingual language center called "iCoToBa" and Japanese students plan many intenational exchange events, such as welcome party, movie day, language exchanges., ect.

National Health Insurance (Approximately 1,000 yen per month) and Gakkensai Insurance(1,340 yen per year)
·Visa Process
APU applies for Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) to Japanese Immigragion Office. About 2 months before arriving in Japan, CoE will be sent to applicants.
